The Constitution of the State of Illinois:
I have attached a link to the Illinois Constitution. I think it is important for everyone to have an idea of what the Constitution says. It is, after all, the foundation of all other laws.
Article I, The Bill of Rights, Section 22, Right to Arms is most directly related to firearms ownership. You may find other items of interest to you as you scan through the headings.
In the news:
The U.S. Supreme Court is scheduled to hear oral arguments in the McDonald v. City of Chicago case on Tuesday, March 2, 2010.
38 states and over 700 State legislators along with 305 US Senators and Representatives have filed briefs in support of the defendants (in support of the U.S. Constitution). Find further details at: ChicagoGunCase.com.
I have found that most Illinoisans are unaware that other states allow concealed or open carry of firearms, so I have attached links to reliable websites for educational purposes. Many states post their firearms information on the State Police or Attorney General websites.
